Ashley Arbuckle and Richard Price two of Australia’s most loved and respected classical musicians have formed a new alliance “ ARCO”.
“ARCO” features the violinists as a duo, which is not a common occurrence , even in the classical field.
This joining together of talents means that the repertoire of music for two violins can be thoroughly explored with either their own backing tracks – for smaller functions – or with their chamber ensemble “ ElectriClassics”. The latter is primarily a 14 piece string ensemble that can be expanded in size at any time as required.
With similar backgrounds in the classical genre both Arbuckle and Price have drawn on their experiences in the international music world to create an accessible medium that every lover of music can enjoy. Apart from the obvious classical content in their performances the Duo has found common ground with their mutual love of jazz and rock repertoire as well.
Having had the classical world as the major component in their careers for so long , they now feel the time is right to delve into all areas of music with their own arrangements and in the future their own compositions.
Currently the duo are working on the content for their first CD, to be launched before the end of the year.
“ARCO” is an exciting concept which will inspire all lovers of music, both the listeners and the future performers.
“ARCO” in musical terms means “ bow”.
